New fourth-floor lounge and terrace re-energize downtown office tower

Located in a 310,000-square-foot, 17-story tower in an emerging business district, this fourth-floor retrofit envisions a fresh type of hospitality suite for commercial tenants. Dubbed “Club Ten,” the project creates new indoor and outdoor spaces that allow professionals to study, lounge or pursue personal wellness.

Ten Almaden is located in the heart of downtown San Jose. Building owners wanted an updated, cutting-edge design that would help Ten Almaden remain a highly-sought-after address in the competitive marketplace. LPA’s integrated team — including interior design, landscape architecture, lighting, signage and graphics — revitalized the building’s common areas to reflect the innovative spirit of Silicon Valley.

The project includes a state-of-the-art conference center sized to host large organizational events; a community lounge to support social gatherings; and a wellness center to improve health and well-being.

The three interior spaces open onto a screened terrace. Conceived as an outdoor sanctuary, the terrace is protected by wood slat-walls and lush green-screens that frame the downtown skyline. Rooftop amenities include formal and informal gathering zones, a custom fire pit, BBQ and bar-top prep area.
