The concept for the design represents an abstraction of the agrarian farmhouse yet also incorporates elements that gesture toward the specific MemorialCare use. This is accomplished through the integration of elements which integrate concepts of healing and nurturing Additionally, through innovative and yet straightforward construction processes, the design remains simple, cost-effective and most of all appropriate. The form of the building takes on a simple high gable roof profile. The angle of the vehicular approach to the structure accentuates this shape and allows the building to be seen in perspective rather than elevation. This form is constructed using concrete tilt-up panels all of which are identical in size and proportion. This results in a building that is simple to construct, requires limited form work and is the most cost effective.
