California State University, San Bernardino Santos Manuel Student Union-North
San Bernardino, California
A new center of student life on a state university campus.
The Santos Manuel Student Union-North at CSU San Bernardino is a 105,000-square-foot expansion project that complements the existing student union facilities. The new three-story building serves as the living room on campus, providing comfortable and relaxing environments with a multitude of services important for the university community. The first floor houses lounge spaces, Coyote Lanes bowling alley, Cantina pub, game room, social stairs, bookstore, burger grill and dining. An elevated outdoor plaza provides access to the second level that offers a large 12,000-square-foot conference center and meeting spaces.
The top level takes advantage of the spectacular surrounding views and is referred to as the Student Success floor, housing the Asian Pacific Islander Center, First Peoples Center, Latinx Center, Pan-African Student Success Center, Osher Adult Re-Entry Center, Queer and Transgender Resource Center, Women’s Resource Center, Associated Students Incorporated (ASI), Office of Student Engagement, Leadership Lab and additional study/lounge spaces. The bold and iconic project creates a hub at the very center of campus, supporting a thriving student life culture for the university.
