California State University, San Bernardino Student Union Expansion

San Bernardino, California

The Santos Manuel Student Union at CSU San Bernardino is a 105,000-square-foot expansion project to support the existing building. The new three-story building will be connected to the existing facility with a ‘skybridge’ on the second floor. The first floor will house the new bookstore and student activity spaces, including a bowling alley, student pub, video game room and lounge areas.

An elevated plaza gives access to the second level that contains a large, 12,000-square-foot conference center and meeting space. The top floor is reserved for administrative offices and a large number of student centers; these spaces were designed to take advantage of the surrounding mountain views. The state-of-the-art project will create a hub of activity at the very center of campus, underscoring the university’s commitment to student life.
