Nexon
Irvine, California
The interior design for Nexon’s Orange County office creates an open atmosphere focused on collaboration and the creative goals of the Korean gaming company. The office reflect the personality and brand of the company, while providing environments that reshape how the company works together.
The flexible open space plan allows the company to reconfigure staff and collaborative spaces as new project teams are assembled. A new central collaborative area was created that includes custom, built-in seating; open ceilings; bright furniture; and subtle graphics that extend from the wall onto the newly polished concrete floors. An existing garage opening was outfitted with an aluminum and glass roll-up door, creating a strong connection between the indoor spaces and common outdoor area created by the landlord. The break room features built-in banquette seating, and a screen wall with perforated metal panels.
The space also meets the company’s technology requirements, included a recording room with specialty acoustical doors, seals and acoustical drywall. The lighting throughout the building reflects the different needs of the professional teams, from adjustable low light for the programmers to brighter spaces for meetings and teamwork. LED lighting helped the design meet all CalGreen and California Title 24 requirements.
