Ernest S. McBride Sr. High School

Completed in 2012 and located at a former middle school site, the Ernest McBride, Senior High School is a newly constructed 150,000-square-foot facility containing a Career Tech Educational program for early college and technical studies. It houses 1,200 students in four distinct academies.

The academies include Health Sciences, Engineering, Goods Movement and Law Enforcement. The goal of the Long Beach Unified School District was to provide students with a model program to motivate them through a variety of learning styles, as well as provide opportunities for hands-on learning, mentoring and business internship partnerships. Additional facilities include student services, library-media center, performing arts, physical education and food service spaces.
