LPA San Diego
Our San Diego studio is a transformed two-story barracks building in Liberty Station, the mixed-use community on the former site of the Naval Training Center. LPA designers took the 1920s -era, concrete military structure and developed an open, light-filled mix of collaboration spaces, flexible work environments and meeting spaces.
On the second floor, an exterior walkway was enclosed to expand the space and expand access to natural light. The second floor is focused on work stations, a material library and areas designed for collaboration and heads-down, focused work. The bottom floor is reserved for conference rooms, a material lab, lounge areas and the glass-enclosed “war room,” a flexible, technology-equipped space for larger meetings and design sessions.
The 10,000-square-foot studio is designed to meet LEED Gold certification, including smart lighting systems, careful material selection, access to daylight and energy-efficient HVAC systems.
