Supporting a Non-Profit’s Essential Work
The new home for Meals on Wheels San Antonio showcases the organization’s work to patrons and donors and provides a healthy work environment for staff, in addition to housing a 20,000-square-foot kitchen capable of preparing and distributing up to 10,000 meals a day. The 45,000-square-foot facility includes an adult daycare facility center, Grace Place, for memory care clients. The different programs and goals are blended into one facility, each with its own entrance. Outdoor spaces provide a variety of environments for visitors, staff and guests. The design preserves mature oak trees on the six-acre site, while also creating a circulation pattern for the 18-wheel trucks that need to access the kitchen.
