The design concept is a direct response to the site, client, community, climatic, and programmatic needs. The original compound of the newly restored Nuestra Senora de la Soledad Mission was used as a source of inspiration to develop an effective planning strategy for the site. As in the original Mission plan, the buildings where arranged around a central quadrangle, protecting the school from the prevailing northwest winds and fostering the extension of social and educational activities to the outdoors.
