LPA San Antonio

LPA redesigned a long-vacant retail space in the up-and-coming Southtown district in 2018 to headquarter the local team, which has deep roots in the area. The design team wanted the office to be used as a tool to demonstrate LPA’s commitment to sustainability by repositioning an underutilized building into a collaborative sustainable work environment.

The 10,300-square-foot Platinum LEED CI project includes a 43 kw photovoltaic system, natural light, 100 percent LED lighting fixtures with controls, energy monitoring and innovative air quality and water strategies. The PV system which includes a solar canopy over parking stalls offset more than 50 percent of the total energy use. A large percentage of the existing walls, flooring and ceiling were reused, achieving LEED Interiors Life-Cycle Impact Reduction standards.
