LPA's growing Dallas office hosted a panel of local workplace experts in February to discuss the impacts of the continuing corporate migration from California on the regional commercial property industry.
The first installment of a quarterly series, entitled "Elevating Workplace by Design," the event focused on the changing demographics of the DFW market and different ways workplace design can impact performance and recruitment of companies.
"The speakers discussed successful case studies, from the macro to the micro, beginning with site selection," says LPA Dallas Managing Director Teresa Rodriguez, who moderated the discussion.
The panel included Monica Van Berkel, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for CalAmp; Frank McCafferty, Executive Managing Director of Savills; Tracy Wymer, Vice President of Workplace Research and Strategy for Knoll; and LPA Principal and Design Director Rick D'Amato.
"Each speaker focused on a different interpretation of what the California-to-Dallas migration meant to their business and the market," Rodriguez says.
The next event is scheduled to concentrate on aging building systems and the best ways to make older facilities attractive to tenants.
