Rick has spent 35 years of professional experience in architecture, the last 16 years working with educators and communities to design healthy, sustainable K-12 campuses. From facilities master planning through construction, he has worked on hundreds of educational facilities and developed and maintained lasting relationships throughout the industry.
As the Managing Director, he coordinates and maintains communication channels between the client and LPA’s design teams throughout the entire project process. He is responsible for designing and managing contract documents and contract construction administration services to ensure projects are developed efficiently and economically.
Rick has participated in many long-range facilities master plans from single campuses to large, complex school districts. His full range of capabilities are exemplified through his experience with the Arcadia Unified School District. Rick assisted with the execution of the long-range facilities master plan that resulted in the successful passage of a local Prop 39 Bond. He went on to manage more than $200 million in bond expenditures to improve all 10 of the District’s campuses over an eight-year period.
Rick feels fortunate to be focused on K-12 schools and cannot think of a better place to practice sustainable design. He believes providing healthy green schools for future generations isn’t a tagline, it’s our reality.
