Lancelot Hunter is a landscape architect dedicated to designing outdoor spaces that inspire meaningful connections and experiences. His work blurs the boundaries of where learning and recreation take place, creating environments that enrich communities and harmonize with the natural environment. Since joining LPA in 2008, he has become a trusted creative partner on the integrated team, focused on the big idea and finding design excellence on every project.
Lancelot’s work highlights his gift for merging creative and practical considerations. For the K-12 school Tarbut V’Torah, he managed a complex campus transformation over multiple phases, seamlessly integrating outdoor learning spaces to foster connection and community. The project earned multiple ASLA awards, including an Award of Excellence. At Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena, Lancelot balanced large-scale technical challenges with inventive solutions, creating a vibrant recreational space that also earned ASLA recognition.
Lancelot thrives on integrated teams and places collaboration at the heart of his process. With a focus on clear communication, he fosters a creative atmosphere that eliminates boundaries between disciplines and brings the best out of his teammates.
Outside of work, Lancelot helps to build the next generation of design talent, mentoring emerging professionals through design critiques and engagement with students. He is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, a licensed landscape architect in California, and an avid woodworker and maker.
