Darcie Gumbayan manages LPA’s Project Services department for K-12 and higher education projects, overseeing the quality, policy, funding, and state agency approval processes. In the last several years, Darcie has grown the Project Services department to become a true, collaborative partner to clients. She goes beyond the responsibilities of agency liaison to maintain and grow key relationships with clients through projects, interviews, and conferences.
On a wide range of education projects, Darcie has used her knowledge and expertise to review project designs and advise on processes that alleviate challenges for her clients. Her experience facilitating project approvals through the required agencies, reviewing and submitting plans with entities and coordinating with LPA’s multidisciplinary teams has led to success on projects of every size and scope. She prides herself on her ability to collaborate with cities, counties and state architectural divisions to adhere to timely and efficient approval processes.
Darcie is a passionate leader skilled in maintaining a collaborative dynamic between design teams and the agencies critical to project success. Her depth of experience has been critical to helping project teams and clients navigate challenges and earn approval. She articulates challenges with clarity and takes ownership over solutions, working on behalf of clients. She is a bold, outspoken, and confident professional advocating for better project outcomes in K-12 and higher education.
In 2019, Darcie was awarded LPA Professional of the Year, and was a 2023 graduate of the CASH School Facilities Leadership Academy. Between enjoying time with her husband and three teenage boys, Darcie is a member of the U.S. Master’s Swim Team and swims for the Mission Viejo Nadadors.
