A corporate wellness center to develop healthier and happier employees

The DRIVE Wellness Center was developed to inspire the company’s employees to elevate their individual wellness through innovation and engagement. The on-site primary care and lifestyle wellness facility is located on the fourth floor of the Client’s Corporate Headquarters in Irvine, California. The location was chosen for the direct access to daylight and views, and the entry is accessible directly from an elevator lobby, giving employees a sense of privacy when they access the Center.

There is no formal reception desk in the lobby. The reception area is designed to comfortably welcome employees with a concierge, providing them with educational information on wellness, fitness and nutrition. Physical therapy services are front and center--a group flex room is visible to employees as they enter the facility, encouraging a range of different health-related activities.

Exam rooms have a distinct non-clinical atmosphere, with highly flexible furniture, accommodating both consulting and treatment functions. Staff workrooms are centrally located, allowing the staff to collaborate on patient cases and ensuring seamless communication and care. Environmental graphics enhance the patient experience, providing clear wayfinding and branded imagery reflecting the Client’s goals of wellness, fitness and good nutrition.

Programs in the Center are custom designed to help each employee balance their work and life interests, and re-energize their body, mind and spirit. The results show the effectiveness of the Center. After its first three years in operation, more than 95 percent employee engagement, 98 percent satisfaction with the services provided and received, a 70 percent reduction in hospital admissions, and a savings of 5,000 FTE hours annually.
