Strategic Office-to-Lab Conversion Supports Firm’s Growth and Innovation
The tenant improvement project focused on maximizing existing infrastructure to transform a traditional office suite into a flexible, future-ready space that supports product testing, development, and collaboration, without expanding the footprint or compromising brand identity.
Working within the constraints of a standard commercial office building, LPA’s integrated team developed a holistic strategy to support the lab’s specialized requirements. The design introduced upgraded HVAC systems, enhanced electrical capacity, and controlled lighting to accommodate sensitive equipment and workflows. Early coordination between disciplines ensured that infrastructure improvements were seamlessly integrated, minimizing disruption and accelerating delivery.
The lab’s layout was choreographed to support circulation, safety, and adaptability. Modular workstations and glass-enclosed collaboration zones balance heads-down focus with team interaction. Acoustic treatments and exposed systems reflect Trace3’s tech-forward ethos, while branded graphics and digital displays reinforce the company’s culture of innovation. Every design move was calibrated to support the firm’s operational goals and long-term flexibility.
LPA’s research-driven process and integrated design approach enabled the team to “do more with less,” aligning budget constraints with performance goals. Strategic decisions on finishes, lighting, and spatial organization helped conserve resources while enhancing the user experience. The result is a lab that empowers Trace3’s teams to iterate faster, collaborate smarter, and scale their capabilities.
