Integrated Workplace and Lab Design Elevates Panasonic’s Innovation, Culture and Global Identity.
Panasonic Avionics Corporation’s (PAC) new facility consolidates multiple functions into a single location, including office space, electrical labs, a data center, a shipping and logistics center, and an exterior utility yard. The project was developed to meet an accelerated schedule and modest budget, requiring a highly strategic approach without sacrificing design quality or performance.
The integrated design process focused on three themes central to PAC’s mission and culture. Agility—essential to PAC’s fast-moving industry—was expressed through shapes and forms that suggest flight, movement and constant change, reflected in architectural details, graphics and spatial flow. A deep respect for PAC’s Japanese heritage influenced the use of simple lines, clean materials and refined detailing, bringing balance and timelessness to the interiors.
Equally important, the design celebrates PAC’s products and services by incorporating biophilic elements, natural light and modern amenities that promote wellness and connection for employees, echoing the passenger experience the company delivers around the world.
Close collaboration with PAC’s engineering teams streamlined the consolidation of electrical labs, maximizing efficiency while preserving flexibility for future adaptation. Data center and logistics components were carefully integrated into the program, creating operational adjacencies that support speed and reliability. Through early coordination with consultants and end users, the project team developed cost-conscious solutions that allowed resources to be focused on spaces with the highest impact.
The result is a headquarters that unites PAC’s diverse teams under one roof, providing a modern, high-performance workplace and laboratory environment that reflects the company’s innovation, heritage and commitment to people.
