South Kitsap School Board Picks Architect for $5M Pool Revamp

By Chris Henry

District officials estimate the pool project will cost $5.24 million for design, permitting and construction to repair and upgrade the pool and its systems, locker rooms and the roof among other building and system upgrades. That makes it the largest endeavor on the list of projects to be paid for by the district's 2018 capital levy. The estimate includes "contingency" funding for unforeseen cost overruns.

Bassetti is working with LPA, a design firm that has pool experience.

Among examples of LPA's work is consultation on a renovation of the William Shore Memorial Pool in Port Angeles, now under construction. The project is funded by a pool district, a junior taxing district. Voters there approved the renovation in 2017.
