LPA Architect Selected for Inaugural AIA Leadership Academy

LPA Project Manager Brien Graham has been selected into the American Institute of Architects’ inaugural AIA Leadership Academy, a three-year program focused on architects who are ready for “the next level of accomplished leadership in their firm, profession and community.”

Only 18 candidates were selected for the program by a jury of peers, according to the AIA. Graham works out of the LPA Dallas studio and focuses primarily on the K-12 market segment.

“This is a great opportunity to learn and share ideas with peers from around the country Graham said. “I look forward to applying what I learn from this program to enrich the work we do at LPA.”

The Leadership Academy’s curriculum and sessions are designed to help candidates achieve leadership potential by bringing leadership experts, business consultants and prominent architects into the classroom instruction, according to the AIA website. The four key areas of the program focus on “managing yourself, your firm, your profession and your community.” Annual retreats, virtual classes and individualized coaching are interwoven throughout the program.

LPA will assist Graham’s participation in the Leadership Academy through its development grant program, which has issued more than $725,000 to team members since 2010 to support professional development.
