As Managing Director of Education for LPA’s San Jose studio, Walter Estay views every project venture as an opportunity to influence the future through each student utilizing the spaces he helps create. A LEED Accredited Professional with more than 30 years’ experience, Walter’s expertise in programming educational spaces begins with community engagement and consensus building.
Walter believes communication and team growth are essential to successful project execution. A mentor to the core, he is recognized for his ability to create more from less by consistently assessing team progress, coordination, and resources.
Walter’s introduction to the industry began in junior high school, drafting for a heavy equipment manufacturer where he learned the value of detail. By his second year at the University of Houston, Walter was working with an architectural firm on a variety of projects including K-12 schools, working alongside the principal of the firm. Since graduation, he has provided planning, design, and construction management services for nearly $1 billion of school projects throughout Texas, Nevada and California.
