Rachel brings a unique research perspective to design teams, with her education in Environmental Psychology from one of five schools worldwide. With greater understanding of how the immediate environment impacts users, she uses a mixed methods approach to influence the design process from project onset through project completion.
The scope of Rachel’s participation includes the integration of evidence-based multi-disciplinary research, pre- and post- evaluations, user engagement and change management to ensure that well-designed buildings become well-utilized spaces. Her “person-environment’ approach to better understand users and their needs helps to inform user-centered designs that emphasize health, well-being, and sustainability. Rachel’s experience further expands to the translation of research acquired from projects to educate design teams at LPA.
