College of San Mateo Site Work

LPA collaborated with the San Mateo College campus to enrich the already beautiful hillside campus with a new vehicular arrival drop-off area at the front door, new paving, and new landscaping across the majority of the campus. Work included a landscape masterplan as part of a design-build project with McCarthy Building Companies to address campus accessibility, improved water efficiency with new irrigation systems and new pathways that connect existing and newly constructed facilities.
Other features include fountains, raised planters and an amphitheater with synthetic turf infill areas that are great for studying, special events, relaxing with fellow students or just waiting for an Uber or a bus to swing by. It’s hard to say if the new and recently renovated buildings or the landscaping are what make the campus so beautiful, we think it’s a little of both!
