LPA Sacramento Hires International Design Leader

Julian Watt brings a new perspective to the region and will focus on downtown Sacramento redevelopment

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) March 5, 2018 — Integrated design firm LPA Inc. welcomes international design leader Julian Watt as its new Associate to play a key role in targeting opportunities for redevelopment in downtown Sacramento.

Watt has nearly 20 years of architectural design experience working on projects in education, civic, corporate and transportation. With the majority of his experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Watt brings a unique perspective on how design can improve and shape a city.

“I am excited to join LPA and focus on contributing to the enrichment of the city of Sacramento,” says Watt.

His previous experience includes projects such as the new satellite pier for Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport in London and the mixed-use Victoria Street Development in Wellington, New Zealand.

“Julian’s passion and design philosophy align with LPA’s informed design process,” says Kevin Sullivan, Principal at LPA Sacramento. “His ability to collaborate, problem-solve and focus on future needs will deliver a methodical approach to any project he is involved in.”

The LPA Sacramento office plans to engage key decision-makers, city planners and developers to discuss ways to collaborate on ideas and goals for urban planning in the city. “There is so much opportunity here to continue to support the enhancement of the cityscape,” says Watt. “From the railyards to the riverfront, the Sacramento area has potential to become a downtown destination.”

LPA is currently working on 700 J Street modernizations in downtown Sacramento—a 1914 historic, seven-story office building. The redesign will provide innovative and collaborative spaces for Sacramento start-up technology companies.
