LPA Accepting Applications for 2024 Diversity in Design Scholarship

The $5,000 renewable scholarship, open to high school seniors in Texas and California, is aimed at addressing the well-documented lack of diversity in the building design professions.

LPA is now accepting applications for the LPA Diversity in Design Scholarship, a scholarship and career development program aimed at addressing the well-documented lack of diversity in the building design professions. Apply now through Scholarship America. Deadline: January 31, 2024.

The program provides up to five high school seniors with a $5,000 award that can be renewed each year. In addition to financial aid, students are matched with LPA mentors in their respective disciplines and have the opportunity for paid summer internships at LPA. Preference is given to students from historically underrepresented communities, and financial need is prioritized.

Now in its fourth year, the LPA Diversity in Design Scholarship provides a pipeline into the design professions by focusing on long-term relationships with students and offering practical experience to help them progress in their education. Thirteen students have won the scholarship since the program started in 2021, and all 13 are still receiving support.
