Kimari PhillipsCHES®, EDAC

With more than 25 years of experience conducting applied social and behavioral research, Kimari leads the research arm of LPA’s Sustainability + Applied Research team. Her experience encompasses mixed-methods research and planning and evaluating education, workplace and health promotion programs using a social-ecological framework.

Kimari integrates evidence-based design processes during all project phases, including pre- and post-occupancy evaluations, primary and secondary research on various topics to inform design, and cross-disciplinary design team education. She’s passionate about translating the evidence base of multi-disciplinary study findings and best practices to help designers optimize human experience, health and wellness in built/landscaped environments.
