Chris Aeria is an architect and managing director specializing in innovative life science facilities. Throughout a career spanning more than two decades, he has orchestrated a wide range of projects, including ground-up developments, asset repositioning and tenant improvements. He brings a hands-on approach to strategic oversight, leadership and resource management, and a commitment to design with a strong sense of place, rooted in community and region.
As managing director, Chris provides leadership and guidance to the commercial practice, serving as a resource for construction techniques, materials, and quality assurance, and shepherding project teams through the process of developing design drawings, technical documentation and construction administration. Whether in the discovery phase or during construction, he is known for his ability to offer innovative solutions and roll up his sleeves to tackle challenges head-on.
Among Chris' notable projects are the Spectrum Campus Entitlements, Spectrum III, Spectrum IV, Spectrum Bridge, and 9625 Town Center Drive; as well as the Vans Headquarters 2 for VF Corporation. His work is characterized by its sensitivity to cultural, historical, and environmental context and its boundary-pushing innovation.
Chris' journey into architecture was sparked during high school summer breaks spent working for a contractor, where his enthusiasm and ready ideas caught the eye of the visiting architect who encouraged him to pursue a career in design. Through the course of his career, he has developed a strong conviction that architecture should resonate with its surroundings, evoke emotion and take responsibility for its impact on the environment and the community.
