San Antonio, Texas

As Principal at LPA, Mickey Conrad has played a key role in the design of many award-winning projects. His extensive experience includes some of the most significant buildings in the San Antonio region—projects that have sparked revitalization and growth in diverse communities.

Whether repurposing an older building or shaping one from the ground up, Mickey enjoys working with a team toward a creative solution. Throughout his nearly 40-year career, he has worked on a variety of project types, including religious buildings, higher education facilities, K-12 schools, libraries, municipal and other commercial projects.

Mickey believes a well-designed project tells a story about people and their place. His approach to design includes gathering information on clients’ needs and goals to create a collaborative vision. Understanding the culture, climate and context ultimately creates a one-of-a-kind environment where life happens. The opportunity to create relevant beautiful places that change people’s lives is what motivates him every day.

Raised in a small Texas town, Mickey learned to appreciate the interplay between simple buildings and their environment. Mickey attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Architecture. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the AIA and USGBC.
