Tower 180°

San Diego, California

LPA completed a major repositioning of the ground floor retail experience for Tower 180, a high-rise building in downtown San Diego. The aging existing space was reconfigured to allow for a wider variety of tenants, as well as to modernize and amenitize the spaces with new outdoor dining and lounging areas. A new podium lifts patrons above the pedestrian traffic, creating a presence for the retail spaces on the busy, highly visible location on Broadway. The design also solved many ADA issues with the site, in addition to linking the retail to the outdoors and the street. When the renovation was finished, the redesigned space attracted top-level local food and beverage tenants and created a new vibrant, thriving retail experience for the owner.
