Santiago Canyon College Athletic Fields
The Santiago Canyon College Athletic Complex was planned as part of a comprehensive facilities master plan developed by LPA in 2003. The athletic complex included a tri-sport soccer, track and field stadium, a softball stadium, a baseball stadium, a practice soccer field, a three court gymnasium, student fitness center and aquatics facilities.
The first project designed by LPA and constructed in 2004 were two natural grass NCCA regulation soccer fields. Field one was the main competition field placed to ultimately fit into a future tri-sport stadium complex, and the second field was planned as a practice field but designed to meet NCCA soccer regulations. In 2005, LPA designed a 250-seat synthetic turf NCAA softball complex that included a press station, dugouts, batting cages, and a concessions and restroom building.
The master planned athletic facilities built to date are considered some of Orange County’s premier athletic fields and facilities and are all connected by a 20-foot-wide “walk of champions” promenade that links all athletic amenities to the main campus, drop off zones and parking.
