Former warehouse repurposed into new hi-tech corporate headquarters
This 33,000-square-foot adaptive reuse project serves as a new corporate headquarters for Pan-Pacific Mechanical (PPM), which consolidated its various offices into one home base. The design features a streamlined, open office environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork.
The design expands the former warehouse and lab spaces into an energetic corporate office environment that exudes PPM’s brand and culture. Large glazed conference and training rooms are centered around a multipurpose café/lounge area that accommodates team meetings. Each room includes technology infrastructure for video/teleconferencing as well as vendor demonstrations.
Natural lighting and the former warehouse’s high ceilings are showcased in the open office area. High-efficiency LED fixtures tuck up against the high-bay structure, making it hard to tell if the illumination comes from skylights or fixtures. Along perimeter corridors, wall-mounted 1x4 fixtures create a modern appearance and emphasize the branding and signage.
Specialty lighting throughout the site creates a clean, simple statement. The reception desk is highlighted by linear pendant fixtures that mimic the shape of structural I-beams, inspired by PPM’s work in the construction industry. LPA’s innovative lighting design was honored by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America with a Merit Award in 2015.
